People can get some relief: Petition in Supreme Court for loan moratorium, this demand made for those who fail to pay EMI

In view of the serious impact of the second wave of Corona on many sectors and classes of businesses, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court for relief in loan payments to them. It has been said in this petition that people and businessmen have faced serious problems due to the lockdown imposed in many states to reduce the outbreak of the second wave of Corona.

In the petition, such people have been sought exemption or moratorium from loan payment from June to August this year. Along with this, a demand has also been made in the petition not to declare the loan accounts as NPA of those who failed to repay the loan installments from April to August.

The NGO Distress Management Collective, making the Central Government and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as respondents, said in the petition that the relief package should also be considered in view of the economic difficulties and fears of the third wave of the epidemic. It is no secret that the middle class has been the most affected financially in the Corona epidemic.
