In contrast to the plea to declare the results of 12th
class board examinations on the basis of grading, a teacher from Kerala has
approached the Supreme Court to ensure that the examination is conducted.
Kerala math teacher Tony Joseph has filed an
intervention petition through lawyer Jose Abraham, saying that he is a teacher
and concerned about the future of his students.
The intervention petitioner has said that the 12th-grade examination gives a new dimension to the career. Not only this, admission to
higher education institutions depends on the result of this exam. In such a
situation, cancellation of the examination will be an injustice to the
hardworking students who have worked hard for the board examination.
The petitioner states that a large section of
academics and heads of institutes in addition to students and teachers are in
favor of conducting the examination. He also suggested that the exam should be
conducted only after three to four months of delay in life.
It is worth mentioning that an original petition of
Mamta Sharma is pending in the apex court, in which she has sought the
direction to cancel the 12th board examinations due to the Corona epidemic and
declare the result on the basis of internal grading.
